Prior to the required termination of hire of a scaffold from Star Scaffolds you must telephone the branch from which you hired it and receive a RIN number (Return Instruction Number).
On the receipt of a RIN you can be confident that your instruction to terminate the hire has been recorded and will be acted upon.
NOTE - On site verbal or written requests of any form directed to Star Scaffolds scaffolders, sales or administration staff cannot be acted upon and are not acceptable methods of off-hiring or terminating hire.
The RIN is a unique coded number that is permanently "attached" to your hire transaction and can be recalled at any time in the future if required. Embedded within it is the date and time you off-hired the scaffold.
The RIN is proof that a request to off-hire the scaffold and pick it up was made by you and you should record this number for your own security.
IMPORTANT
YOU REMAIN RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SCAFFOLD!
The Terms and Conditions of Hire of Star Scaffolds (Item 6.1) state that you must take appropriate action to keep the scaffold you have hired secure and ensure it is not exposed to theft, damage or fraudulent use or any other similar event once it has been off-hired. In other words you remain responsible for the safekeeping of the scaffold until it is picked up by us from your site irrespective of when it was off-hired. And remember the Terms and Conditions of Hire of Star Scaffolds (Item 7.4) require you to adequately insure the equipment against loss or damage in the "Owner's" and your name for the entire period the equipment is in your care. |
